Keynote Mark Mallett
Mark Mallett is President of MV Communications, Inc., one of
the oldest ISPs around. He has been involved in computer
communications since the mid-70's and has at various times
been employed as software columnist, magazine editor,
newspaper photographer, software programmer, and dishwasher.
Session #1 Eugene von Taube
Eugene von Taube, has nineteen years of high tech experience working at
Northern Telecom, Motorola/Codex, Digital and MCI Worldcom. He has been
driving routing products development and network architecture design ,
working on the introduction of the first frame relay public network and ,in
the last several years, working on Network Architecture design for several
ISPs . He also has been teaching advanced networking courses in Boston
University(US) , Northeastern University(US) and Oxford University (UK).
In his presentation Eugene will focus on network architecture design, trends
and evolution.
Session #2
Intel Territory Manager, Lisa Gaskey & Systems Engineer-Adam Schoolsky,
of the newly formed ISP Group will be on hand to speak
briefly on the features, benefits and business building tools offered
through our ISP Channel program. Lisa will illustrate the "Business Value
Proposition", and Adam will address product and service offerings (current
and future) for Service Providers. We will field questions and comments on
CPU's, Servers, VPN, LAN and WAN products.

Jason Simonds
Born and raised in Damariscotta Maine way back 1959.....
Some college, business related studies.
Jason has as worked in industrial rubber and plastics products for
12 years off an on and restaurant work from top to bottom for 6
years. He started in computers a short 12 years ago by
computerizing the Industrial distributor he was working for at the
time. That led to a computer consulting business that grew into the
Computer Connection (DCC, Inc). DCC sells & services computers
and all those related pieces, doo dads and services that go along
with the use of them.
Four years ago a fellow BBS operator pointed to message on
Usenet, where someone wanted to startup a POP in the local area.
They met at Moody's restaurant and his carreer as an ISP started.
Midcoast Internet Solutions now operates over 600 dialup ports
from Bath to Belfast Maine, as well as supplying domain hosting
and dedicated services.
In December of 1997, MIS started looking for a way around the
telco/cable monopoly on our technical future and found a wireless
system that fit them like a glove. Today MIS operates 7 broadcast
points that offer highspeed wireless service from Bath to
Isleboro/Camden in Maine. Several more sitee will be lit up within
the next few months, including two new towers at 100' and 150'.
MIS currently operates from a 130' and 100' towers in addition to
space of local small mountain. The owner recently completed the
purchse and now the fitting out of a 300' FM radio tower that
anchors the southern end of their network.
Jason Simonds recently conducted a wireless seminar a ISPF, an
Internet Provider conference, and has a backgound in theater,
cable tv access, and most any job there is at an ISP, Restaurant
or an Industrial wholesaler.
